Debbie, the creator of our scone mixes, attributes the existence of the Indian Chai scone mix to a collaboration with Danielle Beaudette of The Cozy Tea Cart. Apparently it was Danielle who hit upon jus the right black tea and Indian chai spicing (think ground cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and pepper) to add to this scone mix, resulting in spectacular aroma and unrivaled nuanced taste. Thank you, Danielle! Remember the suggestion to use the Original Recipe scones as shortcake? Imagine the Indian Chai scone paired with strawberries or peaches. Need we say more? (Net weight 1 lb 4.71 oz makes 16 large scones per large bag)
Not baking for a crowd right now? The wonderful thing about these mixes is that you can make up the dough, freeze individual scones so they are ready to bake, and then bake only as many as needed, when needed!
