A lovely accompanyment to any tea setting, this basic white Milk & Sugar set has all the strength and durability of porcelain: one of the strongest, toughest materials for making teaware. The toughness, strength, and translucence of porcelain arise mainly from the formation at high temperatures (heating refined materials in a kiln at temperatures up to 1,400°C (2,552°F!) of glass and the mineral mullite within the fired body.

Why "milk and sugar" rather than the more commonly known name "cream and sugar set", you ask? Traditionally, the British call it "creaming the tea" but use milk because (a) the tannins in tea can curdle milk, and (b) some feel that cream is too heavy and its taste may overpower the subtleties of many teas. Whether you prefer cream or milk, yourself, this set in clean, white porcelain will brilliantly accompany the Raffles Collection tea set, as well as any of our porcelain, ceramic, glass, or stainless steel teaware, beautiful in any setting or decor. Use to enhance that perfect cuppa. Makes for a perfect gift for any tea drinker!
